Terms of Use

Welcome to MereTrax. By creating an account or using the MereTrax service (available at www.meretrax.com), you agree to these Terms of Use. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Who May Use MereTrax

You must be at least 13 years old to create a MereTrax account. If you are between 13 and 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these terms on your behalf. By using the service, you represent that all information you provide is accurate and that you have the legal capacity to agree to these terms.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your username and password confidential. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@meretrax.com if you suspect unauthorized access. We reserve the right to disable any account that violates these terms.

3. Free Tier & Paid Upgrades

MereTrax offers a free tier that allows up to 3 voyages and 30 locations. These limits are enforced in the user interface. Users who require more may upgrade to an unlimited paid plan.

Paid upgrades are processed through PayPal. By completing a payment you agree to PayPal’s terms of service in addition to these terms. MereTrax does not store your payment card or PayPal credentials.

Refund policy: Paid plan purchases are generally non-refundable. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 30 days of the charge at support@meretrax.com and we will review your case. Approved refunds will be issued to the original PayPal account.

4. Your Data & Content

You own your travel data. Voyages, locations, photos, journey log entries, and any other content you create remain yours. By storing content on MereTrax you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store and display that content solely to provide the service to you. We do not sell your content to third parties.

You may export or delete your data at any time from within your account settings. When you close your account, your data is permanently deleted from our systems (except for anonymized activity logs retained for security and abuse-prevention purposes).

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use MereTrax for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation
• Upload content that is abusive, defamatory, obscene, or infringes any third-party rights
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service or its infrastructure
• Scrape, crawl, or programmatically harvest data from the service without written permission
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers connected to it

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without prior notice.

6. Privacy

We collect the information you provide when creating an account (username, email, password hash) and the travel data you choose to store. We use this data solely to provide and improve the MereTrax service. We do not sell or share personal data with advertisers.

Analytics: MereTrax uses FullStory and StatCounter to understand how the service is used. These tools may collect anonymized usage data including page views, clicks, and session recordings. No personal financial data is captured.

Map data: When you use address search or map features, your query is sent to the Google Maps API. Google’s privacy policy applies to that data.

7. GDPR & California (CCPA) Rights

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data and the right to data portability.

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) grants you the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights. MereTrax does not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@meretrax.com. We will respond within 30 days. You may also export or delete your data directly from your account at any time.

8. Intellectual Property

The MereTrax name, logo, design, software, and original content are owned by Seaton Gras and protected by copyright and other applicable laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the service without written permission.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

MereTrax is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be available at all times, error-free, or free of viruses. Use of the service is at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Seaton Gras and MereTrax shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of goodwill. Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you via the email address associated with your account.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of California.
